We publish guides to solar systems, including how rooftop solar works, grid-connected solar, batteries and hybrid systems, and off-grid solar; to solar components, including panels, inverters, mounting and roof suitability, and monitoring and maintenance; and to buying and installing, including getting quotes, choosing an installer, rebates and STCs, and feed-in tariffs and bills. Our size estimator gives a rough starting point for system size based on your own usage figures.
About this domain
homesolar.com.au hosted a generic home solar information and quotes site in the mid-2010s. It later lapsed and was parked. The domain was relaunched in 2026 as an independent guide, and every page has been written from scratch. We aren't connected with any previous operator, any solar retailer or installer, or any business with a similar name, and we don't sell or install solar.

- the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water;
- the Australian Energy Regulator and state energy regulators;

We list sources on every page and show when each guide was last updated. We don't invent prices, savings figures, statistics, reviews or rankings. Read our editorial policy.
